How do I join?

 

Membership

 

Any person over the age of 18 may apply for membership of the Comrades Club subject to the Clubs normal approval procedures.

 

Do I have to be Ex-Military?

 

No, the Club have a number of categories which are explained at the bottom of this page.

 

How do I apply for Membership?

 

New applicants are invited to apply to the Club Secretary or through an existing full member they may personally know.

 

What if I do not know anyone?

 

Applicants who wish to join the club who do not know a Club member will be interviewed by two officers of the Club who will propose and seconded the application.

 

What Happens Next?

 

You will receive a membership form that must be completed in full; proposed and seconded. It will then be displayed on the Club notice board prior to being invited to appear before the Club Committee.

 

Membership Categories

 

Membership may be granted in one of the following categories:

 

A - Membership:

 

Any serving or ex-military male service person under the age of 65 years

 

B - Membership:

 

Any non-military male person under the age of 65 years

 

C - Membership:

 

Any ex-military male person aged 65 years and over.

 

D - Membership:

 

Any non-military male person aged 65 years and over.

 

AS - Associate:

 

This is reserved for ladies; who have the same rights as full members except under the Constitution of the Club they cannot attend an AGM and therefore do not have voting rights.

 

Ladies do not have to appear before the Committee to have their membership ratified.

 

Life Membership:

 

May be granted by the Committee using the following guidelines:

 

The member must be in good standing and using the Club on a regular basis and must have completed 20 years continuous service to the Club and be 65 years of age or over.
